Teri and Alex’s beautiful wedding at Winters Barns, Canterbury, Kent
Winters Barns Wedding Photography of Teri and Alex
Teri and Alex’s beautiful wedding took place at the stunning Winters Barns - situated on the outskirts of Canterbury, Kent - at the beginning of April.
This is a gorgeous country barn with picturesque gardens and it was an absolute joy to capture this lovely couple’s special day there.
Winters Barns Groom Prep Photography
I arrived several hours before the ceremony and made my way to ‘The Salon’, where Teri and her bridesmaids were getting their hair and make-up done while enjoying some drinks and other refreshments.
One of the great things about Winters Barns is the fact the groom can also get ready at the venue. ‘The Pump Room’ is a stone’s throw away from The Salon and this is where I found Alex and his two key men singing along to various Oasis hits.
The lads were making the most of the day and, well, just generally loving life. Their chilled but simultaneously upbeat vibes allowed me to create some of my favourite photos of the day.
Not every groom likes the idea of having photos taken of themselves getting ready, but who wouldn’t want memories like this to look back on in years to come? Looking back at my own wedding day, I really wish I had!
The ability to float between these two rooms was incredibly handy for me as the photographer.

Minutes after leaving the boys, I was back in The Salon as Teri prepared to get changed into her wedding dress.
There was a particularly beautiful moment when Teri’s dad saw his daughter in her incredible wedding dress for the first time and I was on hand to capture these precious moments as they unfolded.
Kind words from Teri

It was then time for the ceremony and Teri and Alex’s love for each other was clear for all of their guests to see.
It was a real privilege to be there.
Winters Barns Group Shots Photography
After the confetti run came the group photos - a tricky part of the day which can go one of two ways but was actually a lot of fun on this occasion!
I ask all of my couples to provide me with a detailed list of the group shots they’d like and specific names of people they want in each photo.
Teri and Alex’s family were all very responsive and we quickly rattled through each group shot on this sunny but blustery spring afternoon.
Alex and his boys, who were in fine form all day, had their group shots on the outside bridge. The newly-married groom was spontaneously carried at one point and this made for some brilliant photos!
Winters Barns Speeches Photography
We then had the wedding breakfast while the speeches - which were epic, by the way! - took place afterwards.
The amount of effort that had gone into preparing these speeches was genuinely incredible. There was some golden moments that I’m certain Alex and Teri’s nearest and dearest will remember forever.
Winters Barns Wedding Portraits
I’d made some time earlier in the afternoon for portraits of Alex and Teri around the grounds of Winters Barns.
I particularly love the photos of the newly-weds on the swing chair.
Stunning!
Although we didn’t get a gorgeous golden-hour sunset, we still managed to make some lovely additional portraits before darkness fell.
Winters Barns First Dance
Finally, it was time for the first dance, the father-daughter dance and party time!
What a wedding!
Alex and Teri: thank you so much for allowing me to be part of your magical day. It was so much fun and you were both amazing.
