On holiday with Fujifilm’s X100V
Is Fujifilm’s X100V the perfect camera for taking on a family holiday?
I decided to travel light - in terms of photography equipment, at least! - when my wife and I recently visited Lanzarote with our two young children.
Anyone familiar with the X100V or previous iterations of the camera will know that its compact size is one of the primary reason why the X100 range is so popular. With its 23mm (35mm eq.) fixed lens, this is a camera that you can take anywhere and use in the vast majority of scenarios.
Having owned the camera for around 18 months, I knew what it was capable of. Well, I thought I did anyway because there were times when l was taken aback by the quality of the images - whether it was of my kids or the surrounding area.
I used the same film simulation over the course of the week (Classic Chrome) while the built-in ND filter also came in handy shooting in such bright conditions during the day.
It was a joy to go through all the photos after returning home.
Looking at other people’s holiday snaps can be a tad dull, admittedly, but if you are thinking of becoming an X100V user (or even if you’re thinking of purchasing one of the older versions from the range) then you might find the following photos of interest.
In truth, these holiday photos remind me that I probably don’t use the X100V enough for every day life.
There’s no reason why I shouldn’t be trying to take photos every single day with this incredible camera.
So I’m now going to make that my mission and hopefully have more blogs to show for it, too!

I’d love to check out your work!
